Bright Colors at Paris Metro Gallery

Currently at the Paris Metro Gallery is a show of the art of Indea Vaher. Indea's paintings are folk art representations of life on a fictional barrier island of the US coast. The work is reminiscent of South Carolina artists, Jonathan Green and Jeffrey Callaham.
This is, in fact, my part of the world. These beautiful and highly colored paintings evoke the wind of the Atlantic Ocean and the Gullah people of the area and bring back memories of my previous life on the barrier islands.

As usual, Paris Metro has a lovely outfit inspired by the paintings and this time have added a chair! Both are free.

Lludmila loves the particle shows. There are some stills by Lexi and Particle Tom now on exhibit at the Panorama Gallery. Some of them are not totally still, but that doesn't show up in this 2-D rendering.

Jeanne Out of the Bottle

Seascape, fairies, and birds.

A new exhibit of art by Joslyn Jeanne has opened at the Panorama Gallery. Jeanne has used her artistic passion to bring herself out of depression and into expression. The art show spans both nature and whimsy, often in vibrant color. Watch out for the eyes!

Jeanne's exhibit will be up for the next 60 days. The Panorama Gallery also features music and dancing, so be sure to subscribe to get notices of future great events.

For You And Your Four-Footer

These hunts are getting tougher.

The HHVET sim is so pretty! And right now they're having a fun hunt where you find the animals and get the hunt prize ... without getting roasted or losing a virtual arm.

This will be a doddle. Just get it while he's yawning.

A Dedicated Multi-media Exhibit of Fashion

Give it time to load ...

The latest exhibit at the Paris Metro Gallery is a multi-media exhibit by Fuschia Nightfire called "Paris Fashion." Surfaces of the interior of the gallery as well as monitors come alive with a machinima of a fashion show.  The music video is fairly brief and repeats. Be sure you have your media setting turned on. The exhibit  appears throughout the gallery, so you can go to a different area and see from a different angle.

And of course there is the
commemorative gown ... also with
a moving pattern on the mesh portion.

Peevishness

Griefing that doesn't rez properly. We can't see the penes.

Leaping on the meme bandwagon (late, as usual), Lludmila shares pet SL peeves.  Her biggest one, because of her size, which is within normal RL(tm) human range (well, for a female, anyway), is proportion. Houses and furniture that are just too darn big and can't be modded.

is actually sitting in was labeled "kid size" and it's a better fit.

This is just soooo wrong.

The saddest of the peeves was when the non-profit tier doubled. Linden Labs is now trying to win back some of the educational institutions - but, why trust LL again?

Mystery Manor burns as Info Island closes for good.

Lludmila has never had any success with vehicles (except maybe her horse, Major). Either she ends up at the bottom of the ocean somehow or ... it takes off out of control and SL goes all crashie.

should behave better! But, no-o! They end up in the air!

There's lots more stuff: cute outfits, a new house to decorate anytime or any way you'd want (and all of it fits in file folders), and all the clever and silly stuff people come up with. So, ja ja, it's worth a bit of peeve.

Ask And Receive

Remember the Starry Night van Gogh exhibit? Remember the vibrance of color, the thrill of immersion? I was just commiserating with friends a couple of days ago about how much I miss that particular build. I sent Ann out to find some art and after she got all depressed by what was on offer from the Destination Guide she saw a teleport to some van Gogh. There are some galleries and, as if in answer to a prayer, a van Gogh village. Ann had never been to the old exhibit, but was blown away by this one. You could spend hours there.

Ann waits in vain for the painting to rez.

But it isn't all just a series of reconstructions of paintings. This is a total environment with walks, a dance area, and beautiful scenery. It is definitely worth turning the render quality way up and suffering a bit of lag. Be sure to leave a tip so exhibits like this can continue.

Ann found this one of the most relaxing places she's ever visited.

Ann asks, "Is it shallow of me to really enjoy 'pretty'?" Well, let me think about that. ... Naaah.

Panorama Gallery

Opening today (February 2) at the Panorama Gallery is an exhibit of quilts by long-time Second Life resident, Hollyjean Allen. Hollyjean feels SL has become an important part of her life.  It was the amazing creativity that captured her interest.  And, the incredible people in SL enrich her life greatly.

Panorama Gallery

After giving up (again) on Arkhamville, Lludmila received an invitation to the Panorama Gallery at its new home.  Although the Boorama invitation was for later, she thought it would be a good time to visit when the lag was low!  Coincidentally, one of the gallery supporters was there and they chatted as they wandered around the new exhibit of RL(tm) photography and poems.

The Panorama has been open for quite a while and hosted many exhibits and live music events.  Be sure to join their group!

 The current exhibit is some RL(tm) photography by Eliza Cassaboun, some of which incorporate poetry.

So realistic Lludmila could almost walk right into RL(tm)! Heh!

Photography set free for use!

As well as art, there is space for meetings, a garden, and a set up for taking your own photos!  Coming up Saturday, 27 October (tomorrow, in fact) is the Boorama!  Rara Destiny appears at 4 am and Lefty Unplugged at 5 am SLT.  Wear your best Halloween outfit; there's a 500L prize for best Male and Female.
