Virtually Dreaming

Brown Cottage Chair set from the Lucky Chair.

Kathy dropped by Dreamland Designs just to take a gander, and went home with an inventory full of goodies. The furniture is stuffed with animations that give props when necessary.

Cozy Attic Chair set - FREE!

Lazy Days Beach Chair - 10L (just outside main door).

While gathering information for this post, Kathy forgot which one was free and which was Lucky Chair, etc., so she scurried back and realized she missed the Sweet Candy Vintage Chaise for 10L.

Sweet Candy Vintage Chaise (just inside door), also 10L!

Rustic Blue Plaids Bedroom Set - alternate in the Lucky Chair.
"Where did all my clothes go?"

Plenty of naughty anims in the bedroom set, but also some
tame ones. Perhaps Kathy is reading a naughty book.

There's a Midnight Mania and a Mini-Mania board, so if you're persistent, you can really load up on some nice furniture. Oh, and I guess you could also buy some full price. Huh! Who'd do that? Oh, right - me.

Spring Has Come ...

New item is on the leftmost lucky board.

... to the +9 mainstore. It's such a pretty little island in the sky just to visit, but there's also something new in the non-group lucky board. You have to be quick, though, because all the boards are set to one minute. You snooze, you lose. There would be a photo of the new item, but SL turned into Crashopolis for no apparent reason. I can understand how it might get annoyed with me camming around like crazy, but it stood still for that and crashed instead right after delivery of the lucky board prize. The "box" is now hanging in midair in my skybox and, honestly, I've had enough crashing for this morning.

Instead, here are some more photos of the mainstore:

Such a lovely, peaceful place.

Add9

It's still winter at the +9 mainstore, so dress warm. Lludmila is amazed by all the things that are free there: shoes, tsochkes, food, poses.

If you find yours is "locked" - unlock it and it's modifiable.

Make them whatever size you want!

She did manage to find two things that were actually for sale, so you have to look carefully, but it's worth a trip.

Find the food that actually costs something!

Join the group and get gifts sent to you and a chance at the group lucky boards.

... but watch out for that vegetable patch.

Leave a tip on the stuffed bear if you find some freebies you like. Or just wander around. It's just a small skybox, but there's plenty to look at.

Pick up a free cushion with 6 sits. Ooo, that soup looks good!

Cozy up with some friends.

Gah! This water is cooooold!

A little back support. More tea, please!

+9 is more an experience than a shop. Find the teleport and visit Cafe Cherbourg where there are more lucky boards.

Set to 3 minute intervals!

Visit the pond area, where winter still clings on like grim death. But not far away is a beach bar.

Skate a bit, or trip next door for a bit of summer.

Just be careful about that "swimming" animation.

Rubber Ducky didn't want to "get involved."

Return of the Mushroom Hunt

When I was little, I watched this horror film that I thought was called "Return of the Mushroom People" but is apparently called "Attack of the Mushroom People."  So, I was intrigued by this mushroom hunt at the HAL-Kaze, LsKingdom, & amoroso shopping areas.  The scam is to help the Mushroom King by finding his "princes" - other little very, very colorful mushrooms.  You have to pick up the HUD for this and there is also a map of the hunt area - but beware which 'shrooms you click on!  There are ninja mushrooms as well!

This hunt was a lot of fun and the shopping area is charming.  There are also small gifts to be found that will actually turn you into a sort of mushroom (just like the movie! oh nooooooes!) and at the end you report to the King (pictured above) and can pick your prize.

It's also totally worthwhile to check out the various lucky boards in the hunt area!  In no time Lludmila picked up four of the five prizes above at Dogtooth Violet.

Freebie Bonanza at Koenji

Lludmila is an avid reader of the Virtual Vagabond blog and was a touch too busy to catch up on all the goodies she missed until today.  She went to the Koenji sim to pick up the quilt and doily from Olive because she had a place at her house for that doily, ee-by-goom, and just "happened" to wander a bit.  Very close is a shop called Factory of Cark Moon and it had some unusual freebies ...

Got the small wagon right away, but our inventory is so full,
we've decided to just take pictures of things for y'all's sake.

... and some lucky boards set at five minutes.  Lludmila attached her Lucky Letter Listener, parked her av in front of the whispering lucky boards and let her camera stroll off to look at other shops.

Not sure why the whole picture didn't transfer ... but you get the idea.

At the KMH hair shop there was a free skybox on the counter - and we all know how obsessed with buildings Lludmila is now.  Totally white on the outside, it's a two-level space inside with a 360 degree panorama!  And it's only 5 prims, for those with strained prim limits.  You know what I want to do some day?  Of course you don't, but I'm gonna tell you anyway.  I'm going to layer all my skyboxes way up and pretend I'm an investment banker with a golden parachute.

Just a little farther down is the December Glasses and Accessories shop, with these elegant pince-nez for free.

There were more freebies and lucky boards, but we can only deal with so much at a time.

Sweet Spring Rain

Helloooo, Dolly!

The Second Life 24h blog showed some really cute items for sale at the Korean Spring Rain event on Sweet Isle and totally missed the lucky boards and the dollarbies!   We are here to make up for that.  The event runs until June 15.  We won a couple of cute doll "pets" that sit on your shoulder (this one I named Min Hee) and sing a little tune at you if you touch them, and blink.  They can also sit out on a barrel outside your beach shack.

Purple Rain? No, purple hair ... well, purple-ish.

Also available is this spring hair that might be a bit more magenta than purple, with flowers.  Very sweet.

Typical virtual world addict.

I think my favorite is this sin PC bang call 911! wearable computer time overdose scene from *yoyo9*.  Check out the cute details:

She's still breathing, she must be alive ... well, not exactly dead.

Oh, look! Pogo!

Tip jar automatically sucks one linden off the unwary that touch it.

Available for 1L at the *yoyo9* booth is a chat animation that tosses rose petals as you type.  I love that kind of stuff.

Tossing rose petals chat anim.

There's even more at the Spring Rain Event lucky boards.

Lucky Letter Listener and Boof Goodness

Boof has the most funnest things:

Suicide Piñata - you give it love taps, no really!
If it's not in the hunts, the freebie boxes, or in the lucky chair, there's always the Midnight Mania boards at Boof.

Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy player - Can the Log Song be far behind?
Or, forheavenssake, just buy something.  There's something silly for every taste and pocket.

Magic 8 Ball typer.
So, thanks to the Virtual Vagabond, I went looking for the Lucky Letter Listener - which I had to wait to appear on the lucky board (the picture on her blog had a tantalizing "L" on it - making me think the prize was just waiting for Lludmila to show up).  I had to wait quite a while.  But there is a lot of fun stuff in the area and I won a panda bear toy from the nearby Lucky Jumpseat as soon as I got there.  Later I won some kittens.  Then there were some amusing free or dollarbie AFKs that I just had to have, not to mention a demo Harpy costume that will come in handy for the upcoming Odyssey discussion.

So I get the Lucky Letter Listener and I put the instructions through the Google translator.  I think I understand it, but the next time I'm out I plan to implement it.  Well, there's so much fun stuff at Boof that I drop by the mainstore to pick up whatever hunt prizes I haven't already gotten.  I don't know why I bother to get stuff there for free when none of the stuff costs hardly anything to begin with.  So, I finally rez and I remember, "Hey, there's a lucky chair here, I can try out the Lucky Letter Listener!" but my brain really only gets as far as "Hey, there's a lu-" before "L" comes up.  I think I won the Suicide Piñata.  See above.

If your translation didn't seem to make sense, let me try to clear it up.

You know how Lucky Boards/Chairs announce the next letter up?  The wording might vary from one place to another, so I recommend you wait out a cycle and then copy the announcement from chat.

"Wear" the device provided.  It is a blue pawprint and says "wait" on it and appears in the middle of the screen.  Enter the copied chat into the channel /88 but change the letter to the one you are waiting for.  The pawprint will go off, beeping and flashing red, to let you know it's cocked and ready, so just click on it and it will go back to blue.

Basically, this device is set to listen for that announcement in chat.  You'll have to stay in the area, but you can be in a different window or sexting someone in IM and not have to keep looking ... unless you also want to keep an eye out for the wildcard round.  I don't think you can run more than one of these, so you can't wait for your letter/number and the "?".

Cool Stuff

Cool free bicycle
Perhaps I haven't complained enough about my entire "toy" file (containing all my vehicles) disappearing from my inventory.  In that file was a beautiful pennyfarthing bicycle I had wanted for a long time.  I paid actual lindens for it.  It was gorgeous.  Although I know where I can buy it again, the idea of paying for it again and having it vanish one day keeps me from buying one a second time.  So, I was very happy to see on the Virtual Vagabond blog that this cute bicycle was available for free.  Hurrah!

Japanese drum with great sound and sync'd animation

The Virtual Vagabond also mentioned a free tiny piano keyboard on a lucky board at RMI, Real Musical Instruments, which I decided I had to have.  It's a real piano with keys that play.  While waiting, I found a couple of marvelous things.  One is this huge drum with an animation that is actually sync'd to the sound.  There is also a beautiful piano (costing in the thousands of lindens) with many features.  So many features, in fact, that I was unable to absorb them all.
It's definitely worth stopping by to try out the drum and the piano ... and there are 4 lucky boards running, three inside and one at the front.  Cal and Kathy have already won everything but the mini-keyboard they went there for.  Lucky boards are soooo exciting!
