Saturated Color

Art in 2 and 3 dimensions by Toysoldier Thor.

There's another brilliant art exhibit just starting at the Paris Metro Gallery and I recommend you don't miss this one.  Of course, it isn't just the art that is so fascinating, but what the couture elves at Paris Metro will do with it to make some of it into gowns ... which are free.

Oooo, color!

Panorama Gallery

Gallery supporter Timo gives Lludmila a tour.

After giving up (again) on Arkhamville, Lludmila received an invitation to the Panorama Gallery at its new home.  Although the Boorama invitation was for later, she thought it would be a good time to visit when the lag was low!  Coincidentally, one of the gallery supporters was there and they chatted as they wandered around the new exhibit of RL(tm) photography and poems.

The Panorama has been open for quite a while and hosted many exhibits and live music events.  Be sure to join their group!

The current exhibit is some RL(tm) photography by Eliza Cassaboun, some of which incorporate poetry.

So realistic Lludmila could almost walk right into RL(tm)! Heh!

Photography set free for use!

As well as art, there is space for meetings, a garden, and a set up for taking your own photos!  Coming up Saturday, 27 October (tomorrow, in fact) is the Boorama!  Rara Destiny appears at 4 am and Lefty Unplugged at 5 am SLT.  Wear your best Halloween outfit; there's a 500L prize for best Male and Female.

The new location opening in September.

The Shop

Just a few things ...

In a previous post I talked about making poses - and how entertaining that has become (if a an expensive hobby after a while).  I have now got a tiny marketplace shop up and running with my mostly free poses and gestures.  I'm still a beginner with this, but I really enjoy sharing fun things with my fellow denizens of the virtual world.

Classical poses (spear not included)

The classic poses I made, which aren't perfect (some are wobbly), are also available for free either at my pied-à-terre in Awen or message me (Lludmila Mirrikh) inworld and I'll drop them in your inventory.

More are on the way - I'm doing some film star poses, mostly silent movie iconic poses like the Harold Lloyd hanging from the clock pose in the shop.

Unslutty and Undead, the Shop!

Lonely?

"Make way for Llady Lludmila!"

This has made me very, very happy on many levels.  I had already bought The Funeral for Lludmila, which seemed appropriate transport for a little zombie, but I had to go back for the knight entourage.  In fact, I might also need the Angry Mob and Warrior Throne would be just perfect for a dramatic entrance to the SL Humanism Sunday discussion in ROMA.  It certainly amuses the punters.

No, they're not free, nor especially cheap, but I can see shelling out for something really outstanding, like a horse.  Well, here you get seven horses, three of the knights can chat, and it comes with an outfit with a complete av (but as you see above, you don't have to wear it - just something that goes with the skirt) - who could ask for anything more?  Well, a place with a wide enough to ride and ride them.  There is nothing like being at the center of this group and riding around.  The little legs move and everything!

Available at Hell's Care.  Oh, come on, you know you want one!

The Funeral - perfect for Halloween!
 Rhubarb! Rhubarb!

Heh heh heh!

Now We Are Six

"Six" spelled out in Morse Code - a gift from a friend.

Can it be only six years?  It seems like a lifetime.  Surely that was at least 15 years ago I signed up for Second Life and spent forever just trying to find a name to go with one from the list of "family" names.  Info Island was still growing.  I wandered all over, desperate for someone to talk "library" with.  Then I gave up for a short while.

It wasn't until two social sites, LibraryThing and Bookmooch claimed a presence on the grid that I came back.  Maybe there was someone to talk about books with!  Bookmooch had a corner carved out of the Magnatune land and there were some spots that were no man's land where I could rez a box, open it, and hide behind some shrubbery to change.  There was also a garden behind a building near the library where I could change clothes in relative privacy.  And there were the weekly meetings!  I made good friends and, at the same time, I was making inroads at the library as well.

Ch-ch-ch-changes!

My avatar morphed over time - she was made shorter to fit into a space capsule and then never grew up.  I had tried to make her reflect me in the beginning, but was unable to show just a touch of grey, so I went full grey or white.  Eventually I thinned her down a bit, probably to fit into prim clothes better, although her butt still stuck out of some of them.

Then one day, a miracle happened - a chance freebie of a greenish zombie skin turned up and I had finally found the "look" I was searching for.  The skin maker eventually upgraded the skin, with my humble input, and named it after my avatar.  Although sleek (like a seal, not like some bony model) and cuddly, the skin and subsequent zombie persona rigged out in nice clothes acts as an on-going joke: the tension between attractive and repulsive in the same package.

Zombie Glamor

Now, however, I only see how cute and cuddly she is - and the green skin with the pinkish tinge looks normal, if not actually beautiful.  I have created other avatars, Kathy in particular is a regular (created to show that I actually could do straight attractive ... and also to give me a chance to show off outfits that didn't work on the shorter, stockier Lludmila), but I will always go back to the perky little zombie.

It's all just ephemeral code that could totally disappear tomorrow, but the friends I have made here are real -  I've actually met some of them in RL(tm)* - and as frustrating as technology can sometimes be, this has been a really enjoyable experience.

Now, go to my Marketplace shop and "buy" some poses/gestures I've made as a thank you to all who participate in SL and an homage to all the folks who have provided me with freebies over the many ... er ... couple ... well, six years!

Ornamental Ox Hunt Crossover Post

Listening to the Kindle audio.

Reading

This great couch with matching end table and coffee table also comes with some props - the Kindle we can't pry away from Lludmila and books for reading animations come from the Ornamental Ox Hunt.  Each pillow has a different animation.
Warning: this hunt runs sim-wide on an adult sim. I think Lludmila's favorite part was the "Food Court."

Hahahahahahahaha-hem.
